After five years of higher education, Red is still looking for a job and struggles with exclusion every day. Slowly, he is drifting away from Anna, the love of his life. When he receives a letter saying he has been struck off the register, he goes to the employment office, where he is refused an appointment. With nothing left to lose, he takes the staff and the public hostage. As a final plea for help, he is determined to save what dignity he has left.
