Born in Jerusalem, Larissa Sansour studied Fine Art in Copenhagen, London and New York, and earned her MA from New York University. Her interdisciplinary work, is immersed in the current political dialogue and mixes video art, photography, experimental documentary, as well as internet, and print. Sansour uses the vocabulary of film, pop culture, and television, to humorously depict the complexity of life in Palestine and the Middle East.

Larissa Sansour's work has been shown at various international art shows, such as the Third Guangzhou Triennial in China, the Busan Biennial in South Korea and PhotoCairo4 in Egypt, the 11th International Istanbul Biennial, Art Dubai and the IMA in Paris. She also appeared in group shows at the Tate Modern, London, UK, and Arken Museum of Modern Art, Denmark. The book she created with the artist Oreet Ashery, Nonel and Vovel, was first sold at the Venice Biennale bookshops in 2009 and is now distributed at the Tate Modern, the Brooklyn Museum and the Nikolaj Kunsthal among others. Sansour will hold her first solo shows in New York and Paris early 2010.

Larissa Sansour wurde in Jerusalem geboren und studierte Bildende Kunst in Kopenhagen, London und New York und erwarb ihren Master an der New York University. Ihre interdisziplinären Arbeiten beschäftigen sich in erster Linie mit aktuellen politischen Fragen und bedienen sich dabei der unterschiedlichsten Medien, von Videokunst, experimentellen Dokumentarfilmen, über Fotografie und Internet bis hin zu Kunstdrucken. Larissa Sansours Arbeiten waren auf zahlreichen internationalen Ausstellungen zu sehen, so der dritten Guangzhou Triennale in China, der Busan Biennale in Südkorea, PhotoCairo4 in Ägypten, der 11. Internationalen Istanbul Biennale, Art Dubai und Ausstellungen im Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris, der Tate Modern in London und dem Arken Museum of Modern Art in Dänemark. Das 2009 gemeinsam mit Oreet Ashery konzipierte Buch Nonel and Vovel, wurde zunächst auf der Biennale von Venedig verkauft und ist nun unter anderem auch in der Tate Modern, dem Brooklyn Museum und den Nikolaj Kunsthal zu erwerben. Anfang 2010 zeigt Larissa Sansour ihre ersten Einzelausstellungen in New York und Paris.
